Mending Fences

I feel I must apologize if anything I have said in my blogs has infringed on your views on poetry. Poetry is such a personal thing that none of us has the right to critique another person’s poetry, even if we are asked to do so. Poems come from the heart, and as such are a intimate offering of one soul to another. Whatever form or lack of form one wishes to take is part of that intimate process. Therefore, we have to be careful when we critique. We should always affirm the content and the style before we offer suggestions on how to enhance the art part of it. Even then, we must be careful and never make any suggestion that might seem like we are critiquing the poet.

Therefore please write. Choose your own style and images and words. I will be honored to listen.
