Activity 3 – Practice in Self-Acceptance
This program is about changing negative patterns to positive ones. Another name for pattern is habit. A habit can be formed from the evaluation strategies suggested in this program. We accept the fact that we have the power to change but we realize that change only happens when we change our habits or patterns. We have to ask ourselves, “What habit could I include in my daily routine that would lead, without overthinking, to my goal?” I am suggesting that we get in the habits of checking our thinking and behavior patterns and then taking step to change them to positive ones and then practicing those steps consistently until they become patterns.
This week we will choose another goal from our list that we can develop this time concentrating on one that will enhance our sense of self-acceptance. For example, I have a difficult time accepting that I am a great poet and that people would be interested in reading my poems in spite of all the positive feedback I am getting. My goal would be to accept and cherish my creative abilities and take one step to having my works published or shared with others.
I suggest the following:
• On day one choose a goal and ask your Higher Self for clarification. Be sure to include some target that can be achieved in one week.
• Each day, ask your Higher Self to reveal a practice for the day and record it.
• Each morning, evaluate the effectiveness of the practice and then then enhance it or set a new one for the day.
• At the end of the week, summarize your progress and check to see if there has been a paradigm shift in the way you accept the wisdom and power of your Higher Self.

Yes, I find building habits and routines by-pass my often shaky will-power and decision-making- especially by late afternoon. By then I have made thousands of little decisions and my mind is tired. Then old habits take over to undermine my positive goals. I have a morning journal that reminds me my day is more than my to-do list. It also requires me to plan how I will feel good today, what victories I had, what things I learned, how I loved myself, how I loved and gave today, what am I grateful for and what didn’t happen and why. My reward is always total well-being. I couple walking on the treadmill with reading a good book. I do chat and chores with a good friend on the phone while doing tasks I find overwhelming or boring. She is dedicated to becoming fully aligned with Source and we practice re-framing our thoughts and feelings toward attracting positive experiences into our lives. These habits have changed my life. As have reading and doing what you suggest in your work. Thank you.
