Let’s continue to put our powers of belief into practice through developing and achieving our goal. But this time let’s be aware that we are not just the voice of our mind; we are our Higher Self in complete control of our mind. This week, we will look at our goal from the perspective of discernment. We listen to the voice of our mind that wants to play it safe by relying on old patterns. We then ask the voice of our Higher Self to explain the reasons and emotions behind these thoughts and to develop strategies to counter these negative voices that are limiting our ability to achieve our goal.
For example, when I did this activity, I examined my feeling of unworthiness in having my work published and distributed to thousands or even millions of people. I then asked my Higher Self where this feeling came from and discovered that it was because my mother never showed any interest in my achievements and never came to any of my school interviews even though I was always at the top of my class. I have three university degrees and never attended the ceremonies for any of them because my mother and then my wife showed no interest in attending them with me. I listened to that voice inside my head that was telling me these achievements did not mean anything. My goal, therefore, was to neutralize these negative feelings and develop an appreciation for my abilities and the message I want to share with my fellow human beings.

I suggest the following:

• On day one rewrite your goal (or choose another goal from your list of goals) to improve your powers of discernment.
• Ask the voice of your mind to give you a list of fears and feelings that are holding you back from achieving your goal.
• Operating consciously from the position of your Higher Self, find that place within, let it expand, and let it reveal the truth behind these concerns.
Then write a list of strategies to change the voice of your wounded mind to the powerful voice of your Higher Self.
• On day two, ask your Higher Self to choose a strategy for the day.
• Each day, check in at the end of the day and note your progress.
• Each morning set another strategy for the day.
• At the end of the week, summarize your progress towards the goal and check to see if there has been a paradigm shift. Are you relying more on the power of your Higher Self? Are you feeling more powerful? Are you feeling more capable to create the life you want to live?
