Activity 4: More Practice in Belief
We believe that the Higher Self has unlimited power through its connections with the source of universal energy and wisdom. We also believe that the ultimate purpose of our Higher Self is to expand and grow so that we can contribute to the flow of positive energy on this planet. We also believe that true expansion and growth occurs when the powers of the mind work together with love from the heart and the energy from the soul.
We will choose one area of growth for each day and set our belief to growing our self. This is different from the last exercise. This is not a major life-changing goal. It is merely a personal trait that we may want our Higher Self to work on and change. It may be some negative energy attached to an area of our life. Instead of planning and plotting through the powers of our mind, we can simply turn that problem over to the Higher Self. For example in my case, due to my borderline personality disorder, I have difficulty controlling my brain’s shame mechanism. I have to stop and say “No. I am better than that. I am proud of what I do and who I am.”
If there are no problem areas, we can call upon our Higher Self to give us an area in which we may wish to expand.
I suggest the following:
 Focus on the positive outcome you would like to see develop instead of the negative aspect you want to change.
 You do not have to plan any intervening steps. Just let your Higher Self give you a feeling that goes along with the desired growth. For example, if you want to eliminate feelings of shame, you visualize what pride about yourselves may look like and feel like, lock that into your memory, and then recall and hold that feeling at various times throughout the day.
 At the end of the day, look at how the Higher Self has worked on your behalf. If the problem still persists or you still seek expansion in that area, ask your Higher Self for clarification, make the necessary adjustments, and try again the next day.
 If the problem is solved or you decide to learn from the experience and move on or you are satisfied with your expansion in that area, choose a new trait or a new area for expansion for the next day.
