Self-Acceptance

“Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.” (Lao Tzu)

To enter into full self-acceptance, we honor our Higher Self as a blending of body, mind, heart, and soul. We accept that we are beings of sentient energy. We recognize and honor the life-energy of our body with all its strengths and weaknesses. We accept and honor our mind-energy that operates through the neural pathways of our brain. We accept and honor the prefrontal lobe, particularly the right side of the orbitofrontal cortex, where we have our ego which holds our worldly self-identity and personality. We honor and accept our emotions, which provide the will and power to act. We honor the powerful electromagnetic energy that flows from our heart which gives us the power to bond and love.
We then move beyond the energies of our bodies to the energy of our soul. We accept and honor our soul energy that connects us with other human beings, other living things, and ultimately with the source of life and love. This energy is electromagnetic in nature and can be scientifically detected by advanced space-age technology. This energy is often viewed by psychics as our aura and may have a specific color depending on the physical and spiritual energy that may be present at any given time.
These combined energies form the Higher Self, that powerful force within us that we can employ to create miracles for our own growth and for the greater good. Through these combined energies, we create and walk our path to physical, mental, and spiritual self-actualization. Some of the activities for this virtue will be accepting and respecting the needs of our body, the hopes and dreams from our mind, and the desires of our heart. We will focus on listening to our mind and heart and accepting their input rather than trying to suppress and ignore them. We will accept them just the way they are while keeping in focus the way they were meant to be. We strive to keep our whole self in perfect health and filled with abundant physical, mental, and spiritual energy.

Patterns

There is always a brain pattern, a neural pathway,
That pursues a sequence of images and thoughts,
Leading to a plan, a set of goals, a list of objectives,
And I live and work and play according to the plan,
Passing days in constructive and destructive turmoil,
Building a life out of fragments of thought and time.

But there is another pattern, the pattern of the universe,
That is beyond the limits of my tired mind,
An underlying meaning that links all experiences,
A primal source to which I am connected,
Something that is a part of me and I am a part of it.
It exists outside of me but in me,
So what happens on the outside happens on the inside,
And what happens on the inside happens on the outside.

And I am blessed by an intuitive wisdom
That there is indeed a divine pattern linking all.
I am the eye that sees and the ear that hears,
So that I know that the natural is the supernatural,
And the supernatural is the natural;
I am separated from this pattern by thought and time,
But I am connected to all that is by the essence of ME.
